Fellows of the MSID shall be of those persons who have been a Member for an uninterrupted period of 5 years and who have demonstrated advanced standards of good design or have contributed significant service to the design community.
a) Those who have been a full Member plus a national or international reputation as a designer of merit.
b) Those who in the opinion of the Secretary and Membership Selection Committee, have rendered a significant service for the principles of good design
c) Those who are qualified in any of the design categories represented by the Society and who have a minimum of 5 years years practical experience.

Fellows shall have all the privileges of Membership. They shall have the right to designation of Fellow of the Malaysian Society of Interior Designers, which may be abbreviated to MSID.

 

A member must pass the Portfolio Assessment by MSID and possess one of the following qualifications:
a) Completion of at least 3-4 years full time degree of diploma course in Interior Design / Interior Architecture recognised by MSID plus a minimum of 2 years subsequent practical experience; or
b) 5 years part-time degree of diploma course in Interior Design / Interior Architecture recognised by MSID plus a minimum of 5 years of practical experience which may run concurrently.
All practical experience must be in related work organisation inclusive of supervisions of design projects. In the case of self-employed or freelance designers, detail information must be provided to substantiate that the minimum requirements for practical experience have been satisfied. At the time of election, members must be professionally engaged in their field of Interior Design or Educational field.
