President's Message
As the new President of MSID (2005 to 2007) I would like to wish you a warm welcome to the MSID website. I hope that you will find the information contained in this web pages informative and helpful. To the members of MSID, I hope that you will be able to make full use of the MSID website to further develop your career/business and use it as a medium to keep in contact with other members and the society itself.
May 2005, saw the election of new Office Bearers and Council Members for MSID at our Annual General Meeting held at Sheraton Subang. We had a large turn-out of members at this AGM, in fact the largest to date. This participation by members is very encouraging as it shows their interest in MSID and the industry as a whole. This AGM also saw the election of a number of new faces into the Council; in fact about 40% of the new Council consists of new faces. This is very good, as MSID has always wanted to have new blood in its ranks so that there will be continuity as well as the contribution of fresh ideas. With this balance of new faces and veteran council members, I am confident that MSID and the Interior Design industry as a whole would be able to achieved greater heights of success.
I wish to thank the Office Bearers and Council members of the 2003 to 2005 term for contributing to the progress of MSID and special thanks also goes to Associate Professor Jazman Shah Amir, ( President MSID 2003-2005) for his capable leadership.
I would also like to express many thanks to the members for their confidence, support and trust by choosing the new members of the council and the office bearers as well as electing me as the new president of MSID. I am sure that the new Council of MSID will work hard to ensure the continued progress of MSID.
This term will see the implementation of our Saujana Declaration , a set of resolutions laid down by the outgoing 2003-2005 Council, which reviewed MSID's progress since its formation, its strengths and weaknesses and a set of recommendations on ways to improve MSID as a whole.
