To encourage the better understanding, care and improvement of interior design
To frame a code of regulations and conduct to adopt a code of practice applicable to members of the MSID
To represent generally the views of the Profession; to preserve and maintain its integrity and status; to suppress dishonorable and unprofessional conduct or practices and to lay a Code of Professional Conduct, Conditions of Engagement and a Scale of Professional Charges
To assist and advise government statutory bodies and other private sectors in related fields
To arrange for alliance of affiliation with any other institutions, associations or Societies with similar objects to those of the MSID.
To establish, form and maintain libraries and collections of articles of interest in connection with the art and science of interior design.
To regulate the promotion and conduct of Interior Design Competitions in accordance with the conditions laid by the MSID.
To make loans or grants of money, books, equipment or otherwise for the purpose of training candidates in the interior design profession and for the promotion of research work in relation to building and to the art and science of interior design.
To devote any portion of the funds of the MSID to the formation or endowment of Scholarship or otherwise assist the interior design education of students and other members for research in related fields
To institute any legal proceedings in the name of the Society or of its Offices, Servants or Members for the recovery of any debts demands claimed by or on behalf of the MSID or for the assertion of any actual or supposed rights or privileges of the Society or any Member thereof in his capacity of representing the MSID and to payout of the MSID any costs or charges incurred in connection with legal proceedings
To appoint any person or persons to accept and hold in trust for the Society MSID belonging to the MSID or in which it is interested and to execute and do all such deeds, instruments, acts and things as may be requisite to vest the same in such person or persons and to remunerate any such persons.
To accept donations, legacies or loans to be applied to the objectives of the MSID and to borrow any monies required for the purposes of the MSID upon such terms and upon such security as may be determined.
